The ISO 6789:2003 standard is widely used as a technical document for the calibrations of hand torque tools, but it does not require any statements about uncertainties of the calibration results. Nevertheless, according to the GUM it is necessary to report a complete measurement result including its uncertainty. In addition, according to ISO/IEC 17025:2005, calibration laboratories must take into account measurement uncertainties in the case that they make a conformity declaration in their calibration certificates. In this paper, a proposal is given on how to estimate measurement uncertainties of ISO 6789 calibration results taking into account various influencing quantities.Downloads
